New Number for SFSP Text Messaging

Please make note that the nationwide number for the Summer Meals text service has changed. The new automated texting service which connects households to local meal sites is

(914) 342-7744. Families should text “summer meals” or a question that may contain a keyword such as “summer,” “summermeals,” or “verano” (for Spanish), to receive an automated response to resources located near an address and/or zip code. Please update any relevant promotional materials accordingly.

Also, it is important to note that USDA National Hunger Hotline number has not changed. Individuals can still call 1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE to speak with a representative who will find food resources such as meal sites, food banks, and other nearby social services.
