Dr. Mungle's Year End Message to Elementary Families

We hope this message finds you well. As we wrap up this unconventional school year, we would like to thank you, parents and guardians. Over the past two months, you have supported your student’s learning and instruction.  We know that every family has battled challenging circumstances, and yet, because of your support, students have continued to be engaged and learn.

We want to share information on grades for the school year. Elementary grades for the 4th quarter will be reported either as a “P” for Pass or an “I” for Incomplete. If your student receives an “I” for the 4th quarter, this WILL NOT impact their promotion to the next grade. Report cards will be mailed home to families on Friday, May 29, 2020.

In considering classroom placements for next year, we would like to provide parents/guardians the opportunity to participate in this process by clicking here to complete the Classroom Placement Consideration Form. This is optional; it is not the expectation that every parent/guardian completes the form. We know that placement is important to every family in NLCS. The placement team will give thoughtful consideration to every child’s placement whether or not a form is completed. We are committed to creating balanced classes that ensure a highly effective learning environment for all students.

Finally, we would like your feedback as we continue to evaluate and prepare for what school might look like for students in August. Please take a moment and click here to complete the NLCS Fall 2020 Plans Survey to help us better understand how our families are feeling about instruction in the fall.

Have a safe and relaxing summer!
