NLCS Monitoring Coronavirus Situation

The North Lawrence Community School Corporation is monitoring the Coronavirus situation and is in contact with local, state, and federal authorities. While there are no reported cases in our area, we are committed to the wellbeing of our community.

The NLCS custodial teams will continue to clean classrooms and surfaces. Each school has been provided with the communicable disease plan for COVID-19 and we are staying up to date with the K12 Interim Guidance on the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) website.

At this time, schools will continue to monitor students, using normal school procedures to assess symptoms. Patients with confirmed COVID-19 infection have reported mild to severe respiratory symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Our families should practice good health hygiene to prevent the spread of any illness, including viruses. Steps include:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
