Providing Pathways to Success

    Staff Spotlight- Mr. Kenny Turner

This week's Staff Spotlight is our Autobody teacher, Mr. Kenny Turner. Mr. Turner has been a teacher at the North Lawrence Career Center for twenty-five years. Kenny, a former student of the Career Center in the Collision Repair program, is originally from Medora, IN. Before becoming a teacher at NLCC, Mr. Turner worked in industry at TnT Bodyshop. Again, the students here at the Career Center are blessed with teachers who have hands-on experience within their field.

In his free time Kenny enjoys horseback riding and hunting. Additionally, he always talks about his wonderful family, including his wife Kelly (33 years), their three children, and their beautiful granddaughter. Mr. Turner has a big impact on students here at the Career Center, and teaching is something that he thoroughly enjoys. “Making a difference in the lives of young people is truly rewarding and fulfilling. Being here with this great staff, doing what we do, it is truly amazing the impact that we are all making on a daily basis.”

The Autobody program is extremely popular here at NLCC, with basically a waiting list to join the first year of the program. Mr. Turner is very proud of how far the program has come, “We help prepare students to enter the workforce or a technical school with a better understanding of their content and a strong foundation to build on. I am proud of the current state of the program, and excited to see what the future holds!” Mr. Turner’s classroom and shop area is located in Building B of the NLCC campus. We are truly blessed to have him as a part of our team.
