Something new:

Our Library was recently given a set of books called “We Both Read” through a grant. The purpose of

this grant is to encourage dads and father figures to read with their children. Families who choose to

participate by reading these books together will be invited to attend a dinner at the end of the year.

We have recently purchased biographies of all 44 presidents. These books are all Accelerated Reader

4^th – 5^th grade reading range and report friendly.

We have also purchased several books to catch the interest of our youngest readers – our

Kindergarten and first grade students!

Our Library strongly encourages all of our students to be active in Accelerated Reading. Towards that

goal, we are always looking for high-interest books. We help, encourage, and support students so they

can be successful in their quiz taking.

There is a web site for those families who want to find out if the books in their home libraries are

Accelerated Reader books. The web site is www.arbookfind.com

There is a display of books by authors who have a birthday in August. Some of

the familiar authors are: Frank Asch, Betsy Byars, Joanna Cole (Magic School Bus),

Paula Danziger, Don Freeman, Deborah and James Howe, Bill Wallace and many more.

We have many new books in the library. These are just a few:
