Ants
are insects that live and work in large groups. Hundreds of ants may live
together in one colony. Ants seem to be walking around without any plan.
But each ant is doing its job. Each ant has a special job; some are building
and repairing, some are getting food, some are guarding the nest, and some
are taking care of the young. Hundreds of ants are able to cooperate and
get all of the work of the colony done. All the ants in one colony are
children of the queen ant.
