Our kindergarten children meet daily to learn academic skills and social skills necessary to prepare for first grade and life learning. Activities include small group, whole group, individual, and center activities in reading, math, phonics, and social skills daily. Music, health, computer skills, science, physical education, and art activities are also part of our regular curriculum.
Some of the themes we study include planting, water, pets, caring, insects, and more. We learn how to tell time, count in many ways, do patterning, do simple addition and subtraction, and count money in math. We will begin learning to read and write stories. We will be beginning to practice reading strategies and thinking skills. We are excited about becoming better readers every day.
