Pathways:

Integrity is our life skill for Feb. 13-24.  Talk to your child about doing the right thing even though it is hard. Feb 27 we start learning about Problem Solving.  Show children how to solve problems by talking out possible solutions in different situations. Let them know you notice how they solved certain situations.

Breakfast is offered in all NLCS schools. The cost for breakfast is $1.25 for students (.30 for Reduced students), and $2.00 for adults.

MARKET DAY

The next Market Day pick-up is Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 4:00-5:00 PM in the PVP school gym.  NOTE: In the event school was cancelled or we dismissed early, Market Day pick up would be rescheduled at a later date.

BOOK RENTAL

All outstanding book rental balances will be turned over to the Administration Building on March 1st for collection.  Make checks payable to School Book Fund.  Free and Reduced forms are available in the office for those needing assistance.

*** Please note this deadline is for Pre School also. LIFE has paid in the past and will no longer pay for the majority of Pre School fees. They will review extreme cases, please let the office know if you have visited LIFE, we will check with them and see which families will be getting help. All others will need to pay. Pre School does not qualify for state assistance on their fees.

VALENTINE PARTIES

Valentines Parties are scheduled for Feb. 14th. Room Chairs please start planning your parties and make sure to contact the teacher to let them know you are on the job.  Room parents should offer assistance when contacted by the Room chair. Your child’s teacher will include the party information in her weekly newsletter. Students will be bringing home a list of all students in his/her class.

ATTENDANCE AND TARDIES

School attendance is vital to a child’s success. We realize with the young age of our students that our absences will be slightly increased compared to the older students. At this time our attendance is not where it should be. Parkview Primary gets graded by the state on attendance just like it does for ISTEP scores. PVP has to make their grades also.  Keep your children home only when they are seriously ill or need to see a doctor. Send doctor’s excuses to the office when your child must miss. The tardy bell rings at 8:10. It is very important for your child to be in school and on time.

DEPARTURE CALLS

We are receiving lots of departure calls in the late afternoon; we need notes sent to the teachers unless it is an emergency change. Calls must be made before 1:00. Help us get the most out of our learning time by limiting classroom interruptions.

SCIENCE FAIR

Remember that our Science Fair is on March 26th.  This is the Monday after Spring Break. Students should be thinking about a project.  More information will be sent home in February.
