PVI Outdoor Lab

We have just recently completed and are utilizing our outdoor educational lab.  We have an archeological dig sight, tree planting area and marine life pond.  Along with our shelter house near by this makes for a great learning and teaching opportunity for students and teachers.  Mrs. McGinness' class just recently completed a two day dig last spring.  Students were given dig site kits, kept in our science lab for all to use, and worked in their areas marked off by the teacher.  The students spent time not only using proper dig technique but also charted and graphed their findings.  This was followed by documentation and reporting to the class each of their findings.
