1. Treat others and their equipment with respect.
2. No gum chewing
3. Never touch or play an instrument that does not belong to you, or is not assigned to you.
4. Do not play percussion instruments. Percussionists may warm-up on practice pads.
5. The telephone is off limits to students.
6. Under no circumstances should anything be thrown or tossed in the band room.
7. Students should have a pencil at all times.
8. The storage room is for instruments, it is not a playground….please treat it with respect.
9. Students should get quiet once a director, teacher or substitute stands on the podium.
10. No running.
1. Tests & Quizzes. 30-50%
Rhythm quizzes, scale tests, excerpt tests, practice reports etc.
2. Daily Playing Grade 15-20%
3. Attendance/Tardiness 15-20 %
Daily attendance, concerts, contests, pep band, extra rehearsals etc.
4. Participation (attitude, behavior etc.) 10-15 %

1. Students will be issued a folder and a cabinet number to store music.
Keep the folder in the cabinet, but I encourage you to take individual parts home to practice.
2. Students will be assigned a storage shelve in the instrument room to store their instruments during the school day.
3. Students need to be in the door before the tardy bell rings. They should also be in their
assigned seats with instrument and music warming up after 2 minutes.
