Drafting 1 & 2 is a two year program designed to train graduates for
full time employment or prepare them for a postsecondary school.
This program provides students with a solid foundation in board and
computerized drafting technology which prepares them as Draftsmen,
Architects, Engineers, and other related careers. Duties range from
basic design work to complicated piece part drawings and a complete
set of house plans both on board as well as the computer. Our
classroom setting is very similar to that of drafting shops in major
industry.
Students develop and use problem
solving skills in a computer laboratory where emphasis is placed on
developing 3-D models or solid renderings of an object. They experience
the design development process of a product and how a model is produced,
analyzed, and evaluated using a Computer Aided Drafting system. They solve
design problems as they design, create, and analyze these products.
