This program is designed to provide experience and familiarization with all
parts of the automobile. All phases of the auto repair occupation will be
studied with the exception of the body sheet metal. Students should
become proficient in the use of hand tools, test equipment, and
specialized tools needed in the automotive trades. Students that
successfully complete the program possess job entry level skills of an
automotive technician or one of the many closely related occupations.
Post-secondary credit is available for this program through the
articulation and dual-credit agreements with several technical and trade
schools. A Cooperative education work program is also available to those
students who qualify and are selected. The program is NATEF/ASE
certifies and affiliated with the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America
(VICA). Completion of the program also includes 3 college credits,
through our dual enrollment program with IVY Tech State College to
qualified students.
