The objective of North Lawrence Career Center is to provide practical, functional,
educational programs; to give purpose and meaning to occupational, as well as
academic instruction; to cause the student to mature and develop with skills that are
needed for a purposeful and meaningful life after program completion; to provide
instructional programs for the training of occupational skills and related knowledge
that is relative to the technologies presently needed in the workplace for both
secondary and adult students; to encourage the quest for excellence in all students
based on inherent skills and abilities; and to utilize members of business and industry
in program planning, curriculum development, placement and follow-up of graduates,
in-service of teachers, and public relations necessary for viable and responsible
programs. It is the purpose of this school to prepare students to be diligent in their
work, to accept the responsibilities of adulthood, to properly use leisure time, to
create and produce as well as consume, and to develop social and civic
responsibilities as a citizen of our community, our state, and our nation.
