Heltonville PTO Meeting Minutes

Monday April 12, 2010

We started the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Lynette gave the treasurer’s report for the carnival results. After subtracting the outgoing monies for prizes and supplies, we made a total of $1455.55 from the carnival. This brings our checking balance to $6538.53. We had an outstanding turnout and we hope that this was a fun experience for the kids. We did have hot dogs, candy and canned pop leftover and we discussed having this on Track and Field Day for the kids instead of a pizza party. We also had snow cone syrup leftover and it was decided to give it to Dwight Smith at Heltonville Ballfield for letting us borrow the snow cone machine.
The nominating committee is sending out forms for parents and staff to nominate for the PTO next year. It is asked that the forms be returned no later than Friday April 23, 2010. The committee is formed up of Polly Craig and Jo Bartlett.
Golda let everyone know that she spoke to Mr. Ritter about the concrete at the shelter house and he responded that he is waiting on the ground to dry up. It’s also noted that we have a two year contract with the company that runs the Santa Shop.
A big reminder that our next PTO meeting will be the last of the school year. Please make an effort to attend as this will be our election meeting. The meeting will be Monday May 10, 2010 at 3:30 in the cafeteria. To be a voting member, you will need to pay $1.00. Please remember when you support the PTO, you also support fundraisers, field trips, Weekly Readers and many other things that are important in the school setting. This is a wonderful way to show your child that you are interested in not only their learning, but other ways to have a non-academic experience at the school. You also don’t have to just volunteer in the PTO, the school always welcomes any volunteers in other spectrums of the school.
