PTO Minutes for Sept. 8, 2011 In attendance: Whitney Hodges Jenny Stephenson Lindsay Staggs Mr. Godlevske Jessica Allen Allie Crouch *Discussed PTO fundraiser through Paragon Company that is to start soon. Jenny will talk to Mrs. Hert to find out when the contract with Paragon ends. Options for other fundraisers or continuing with this company will be discussed in detail at our next meeting. *Blessings in a Backpack is planning to start again this year as soon as things are worked out through LIFE pantry. There isn’t enough funding for the entire school year. Ideas for ways of raising money and awareness of the program were discussed. Whitney is updating request for donation letter and opt out letter for parents to send home soon. Jenny is checking with Denise Sproles who is helping get the program going. *Allie had updates on the Imagination Library. It’s a program Dolly Parton started to get books in children’s hands and their homes. The program is for 0-5yrs olds. A book is mailed to the child’s address once a month and the cost is $24.00 for the year. Allie is going to get registration forms that can be placed in the Dollens school area businesses. *Santa’s Workshop will be the first of December and we will use the company we used last year. Jenny will coordinate with the company and Lindsay will work on the schedule of workers needed during the workshop. Dates and specific times will be decided and sent home with students closer to December. *PTO will sponsor a dance Monday, September 26th, 2011 from after school until 4 p.m. *There will be a Family Movie Night Oct. 14th, 2011 at 6pm. Mr.Godlevske will organize things needed for the movie and PTO will provide popcorn. *No financial report was available for the meeting. *The next PTO meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 13th, 2011 at 6:30pm in elementary library. |
