The Bedford Middle School teachers are grouped into teams, not to be confused with team teaching. One teacher from each of the four major academic areas, math, language arts, social studies, and science, is on each team. (Grades 7 and 8 also have a health/PE teacher as part of the team.) There are two academic teams per grade with approximately 105-115 students randomly scheduled into each team. One team is located at the north end of the hall and one on the south end. Eighth grade occupies the top floor, the 7th grade on the middle floor, and the 6th grade on the lower floor. This arrangement is a bit like having six small schools within the building, and the teachers in the individual teams work collaboratively toward each individual student's success.

     There is also a related arts team for instruction in band, orchestra, vocal music, art, industrial technology, family and consumer science, computer skills, and library skills. Students will be scheduled into this team two consecutive periods per day.
